Default Guild Wars Toolbar Button

I decided that it was time to add y.a. button to my toolbar, this time to supplement the vast amount of time I waste playing my only online RPG, Guild Wars. I just have many more things to look up now that GWEN has shipped.

This particular toolbar button has several features, instead of navigating within the official wiki, it has the most common links built in, skills, elite skills, missions, quests, and maps. This button also can utilize the Google Toolbar for searching as the search box feeds directly to the wiki search engine. You can also highlight text and pass it to the wiki search engine as well.

I hope this gets you lots of drops! Tested in FF 2.0/IE6&7 on OS X, XP.

Pressing F10 in game brings up options that link to the official wiki.

I just keep Firefox 2 open and have the following tabs on:

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Mission - For mission maps, etc.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Category:Elite_armor - So I can check the cost and materials of whatever armor I'm working on.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page - Where I just use the search box for anything else.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/index.php - For quick access here.

A simple alt+tab is all it takes to switch between Guild Wars and Firefox upon need.

Default well

I have multiple monitors and almost never use the in game wiki link, I prefer to have the browser open (FF2), but I also hate spending time navigating or opening up multiple tabs from the main page, this allows quick navigation (and search) from new tabs.

Some people may find it useful, I know my guildies did so I thought I would share.

Well since I'm the one who wrote it, yes I can verify that it is not a key logger (I appreciate your sense of security I really do), this is used for the google toolbar in the browser only (it does work on FF2.0 and IE 6&7 under XP, and on Mac OS X FF if running in parallels)

If you want to check the code you can always just view the xml
http://www.chriscopeland.com/guildwars.xml - actual button
http://www.chriscopeland.com/gwfeed.xml - xml feed that supplies the button with the links

I have tried to make it as transparent as possible, the feed xml does transmit to the button, but only what is in the feed (which are the links) - if you want to see the google documentation for the API I used to create the button please do so http://toolbar.google.com/buttons/apis/index.html. If you don't feel comfortabe using my button, please use mine as a template to write your own - I have no worries here as Google owns the API.
